Stampin' Up! Flirty Flamingo Pop Up Gift Box

Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Made By Gemma

Hello everyone,

I am just loving the new set of In Colours in the new catalogue, so I decided to have a play with my favourite stamp set Garden in Bloom and some of the In colour cardstock to see what I could come up with. Here it is

Stampin'Up! Garden in bloom

I enjoy making 3d projects so I thought I would make a gift box. When I was out doing the weekly shop I came across a gift box and thought i could make that so I bought it and then set about de-constructing it to make a version of it. As far as I am aware Stampin' Up! don't stock an A3 size cardstock so I had to resize it to make it out of a sheet of 12"x 12" cardstock. The box is all one piece of cardstock and when it is closed it looks like a box and lid with a ribbon. It's not until you open it you realise its not! I'm sure I will do a full tutorial on this project and if you are lucky a video!!
The photo on the left is of the top of the box when closed and the one on the right is when it's open.

For the white panels I stamped some flowers and butterflies from the Garden In Bloom stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink using the second generation stamping technique which I love as you can get two different colours from one ink pad and as you will see in the future its one of my favourite techniques.

Also just for fun I made another box this time using Calypso Coral cardstock and the new Affectionately Yours DSP from the new Annual catalogue. The new catalogue will be available from the 1st June and there are lots of new products in there and some beautiful new suites. Watch this space for more about the new catalogue...

Stampin'Up! Garden in Bloom Gift Box and Card

Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator Made by Gemma crafts

Hello everyone,

This week has been a long one, mostly waiting for my Stampin' Up! goodies. They finally arrived and I have spent lots of time in my craft room trying out all my lovely new products.
One of my favourite stamp sets is Garden in Bloom. So I decided this was what i would use for my blog project today.

I have made a very simple gift box and a card but i used the stamps to make the background patterned paper to decorate the box and card.

I used Watermelon Wonder and one of the new 'In Colours' Dapper Denim. The stamps are a Photopolymer set so are great for two step stamping.

Garden in Bloom Stampin' Up!

To make the box I used a piece of watermelon wonder for the base and dapper denim for the lid. It is a simple box but i think it looks quite striking in the contrasting colours.

When i made the card i used a 6" x 6" white card blank and cut a piece of watermelon wonder to 5 3/4" by 5 3/4" square. To make the background for the card and box lid I randomly stamped flowers, leaves and the butterfly shape on white cardstock. For the lighter coloured flower I inked my stamp up, stamped it on scrap paper then onto my cardstock. I also used some Mint Macaron for the leaves. The main colour is Watermelon Wonder.
I die cut a circle in the bottom left corner and stamped the sentiment in Dapper Denim to show through the circle. To mount it to the front of the card i used the new Foam Adhesive Strips, Which are in the new Annual Catalogue that will be available from the 1st June 2016.

Here are the products i used today

I have joined a team that is led by the lovely Lea Denton aka the crafty spark. It was seeing what Lea does that inspired me to join SU and become a demonstrator.

Finally day 7!

Hello crafters, big apologies for not posting day 7 in my series but i had a poorly weekend :(. All better now thankfully and time to complete my mini challenge.
Todays card is a double diamond fold card.
To make this card i started with card measuring 12" by 6". I scored at 3", 4.5", 7.5" and 9" along the long edge. I made a tiny pencil mark at 1.5" and 10.5" top and bottom. On the short side i made a pencil mark at 3". Cut diagonally from the 1.5" mark on the top to the 3" mark on the side top and bottom to get the diamond shape and repeat at the other end. Then score diagonally from the 1.5" mark at the top to the 4.5" mark at the bottom. Score again from the 4.5" mark to the 1.5" mark so it makes a cross shaped score lines
Repeat on the other side from the 7.5" mark and the 10.5" mark. Fold all score lines both ways so its easier to manipulate them the way you want them. Then you have your basic card base. I used some papers i had in my stash to decorate the card. Then i used two hexagon dies for the topper and a birthday sentiment stamp.
I hope you have enjoyed these cards i have had fun making them.
Happy crafting
